The Poets of Jerusalem - from Yehuda Halevi to Yehuda Amichai

Yehuda Halevi, who was born in Spain in the 11th century and made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem at the end of his life, was regarded as the greatest of all medieval Hebrew poets. Yehuda Amichai, who made Aliyah from Germany in 1935, was Jerusalem’s most well-known and most-loved modern poet. The session will allow us to contemplate the challenges faced by Jewish intellectuals throughout history in addition to how their connection to Jerusalem has shaped their art.

The program takes place in the alleys and walkways of Yemin Moshe, Jerusalem's first Jewish settlement outside the Old City walls
