The culture and education programs are diverse and of high quality and have been chosen with the express aim ofcultivating and promoting dynamic Jewish-Israeli culture, Some examples of activities currently offered are: theater shows, entertainment and music performances, Beit Midrash, lectures, seminars & conferences, parent & children programs, family holiday events, tours & excursions, Oneg Shabbat, etc. As one would expect, many of the activities are in Hebrew. There are however, plenty of programs that are either in English or are not language dependent, and can be enjoyed by both Hebrew and non-Hebrew speakers. The distinctivenss and diversity of these programs, attract a variety of population and hundreds of families throughout the year who enjoy and seek the opportunity of learning and experiencing diffrent elements of Judaism festivales without coercion. The cultural activities take place also on Erev Shabbat, thus enabling the secular public to enjoy a weekend evening of culture in Jerusalem, while most other culture institutes are closed. The Hebrew section of the website has a comprehensive and updated list of activities offered by Mercaz Shimshon-Beit Shmuel, which has become a major player in Jerusalem’s cultural scene. If you are encounter difficulties in the Hebrew section, please feel
free to call and consult the Culture & Education Department staff
for a full list of suitable programs, performances and other cultural
activities. |
